Introducing Break Schedule

If you've ever built a retail schedule by hand, you know the last mile is the worst part. The shifts are set, the floor's covered, and now you have to go back through and place every meal period and rest break without breaking anything you just built. It's fiddly work, and getting it wrong isn't a small thing. So we built Break Schedule to do that last mile for you. Feed it the workforce-management export you already have, and it hands back a placed break schedule you can read on screen or share as a PDF or CSV.

What it does today

You upload a schedule export. We read the shifts, place the meal periods and rest breaks each one calls for under the California rules for retail, and hand back a schedule with every break slotted in and the coverage impact shown right alongside it. Review it on screen, post it as a PDF, or keep a CSV for your own records, whatever fits how you already work. And every run is stamped with the exact ruleset version it used, so if a result ever gets questioned, you know exactly which rules produced it.

Where it stops

Break Schedule is decision-support software, not legal advice, and we want to be upfront about that. It shows its work and cites the ruleset version behind every placement, but it doesn't replace your own judgment or your counsel's. The final schedule is still yours to sign off on.

The beta

Right now we're running an invite-only beta, limited to California retail. We'd rather get the rules exactly right for one place first than spread ourselves thin trying to cover everything at once. If that's you, request an invite. We read every request by hand.
